Atlanta. 19.

I went to MetroMerge for the day. I had one customer from the community come in to consider renting the space occasionally to possibly host a community book club or something after school for kids, so that was a great thing. Independently, I worked the rest of the day on the tour poster designs. They are very frustrating to work on, even at 50% of normal size. They make my computer crash a lot. I wanted to punch it today. But I got some comps rendered at least of all three poster design ideas. I’m pretty pleased with how they came out. I really used a lot of Illustrator and Photoshop on it. Illustrator is infinitely easier for laying out large-scale designs, but Photoshop had more effects, and controlling the gradients that I applied to the designs was easier. For the two posters that would go at the booth, I geared them around the concept of telling a “story,” the story of GiftCardGiver, and a story of GCG in practicality, in other words, one of the ways that it has helped someone. I am learning a lot about the importance of story-telling in design.

I bought a huge pizza to last me a couple of days. It was a boring, but great, day.
